Chapter 2: Thinking Aloud

Some days ago, there was this news about a girl about 12 if i remember correctly in Davao committing suicide because of proverty. She had simple wishes, like finishing school and having her family a decent life.

It was painful to read it. It just shows the true state of the country. Sure we have economic forecasts/statistics saying we’re doing well and there is good fortune ahead. The problem is it barely materializes to affect the majority of the population, the poor.

She has become a symbol of hopelessless yet a wake up call for us too.

We need to end poverty. That’s the bottomline.

I was reading this commentary that we filipinos barely care. We’re don’t really care about others if it doesn’t affect us directly.

I read recently malaysia had this massive protest for good governance. I barely read news these days about protests calling for good governance. I think we have lost hope, grown tired of how things are run.

Our bahala na attitude, Our ‘ganyan talaga’ attitude is disappointing.

We will go nowhere.

i wonder where our nationalism went.

Whew, the past few days has been pretty awesome. (I’ve been using awesome often ever since damos came. awesome!)

Never been out so much and socializing in a span of few days. lol

Damos is one cool dude with loads of stories to share. and the bugger is going to japan, the land of pretty girls in glasses. lol (pics dude!)

So ya, pretty awesome weekend.

Basement was cool….of course it was a rip off, 300 for 3 beers? lol. though the magic sorta compensated for it except it sure made us guys look sily. haha

though, there was this hottie than was just about to enter basement right when we were leaving. rawr.

apparently amanda never gets drunk, so i won’t bother next time. lol

There was Kjuan (tama ba?) band there. It’s nice to see local band scene alive, though it has quiet down these days. Rivermaya has a new vocalist. I don’t think they can ever replace the genius of rico blanco.

Chocolate Fondue today….I think another great dating site. expensive dessert, good service, not much people.

Pickup artist society within our midst. I find it fascinating. I think the power to pick up girls is like the coolest thing next to being a savvy investor/businessperson. lol

yeah, it deserves its own entry.

Workplace romance is apparently a bad idea. I think so too, but but but but, something is telling me i should break this rule. Though she probably can end my silliness with a firm no. Plus, i think she’s way out of my league. or is she? haha

what else, oh ya, pretty girls with glasses…rawr.

random incident: i was at the supermarket, there was this rather effeminate store guy blocking my way…as i entered between him and the guard, he sorta turned and like his hands went somewhere where it should never be. wtf.

ok, back to mugging. It’s gonna be a long day tomorrow. This project i’m in is one crazy but fascinating project. It could change the course of the country and I’d be like, yeah, i was part of it. *cocky* lol.

that day i had a photo shoot rin in the office…so ya, more picture taking as well. I think cameras hate me. lol. Either i look drunk or i close my eyes for some reason. geez.

I felt bad being late… lol. in the end, i got there first. wtf. surprised Damos knew me. oh well, thats rbj for you. I thought he was some tall cool dude. well, scratch the tall part.

Recipes was good. the chicken actually.

Mary Grace is a nice homely place to chill. except the chairs. Ensaymada was good. I’ll try the toasted version next time. Yup, another place to add to my ‘Good dating places’. lol
In fact, it got me thinking of some ideas for a business.

Forgot what club we went to at Fort.. there was some fashion thingy up there…sadly, amanda wasn’t there. lol

Bailey’s …. pretty good….it’s like pasteurized chocolate milk with that distinct bitter aftertaste.

Amanda was trying to get drunk. She probably could have drank one bottle to her own. Then again, girls get prettier approaching tipsy state and beyond. =P

i was suprised the fort was pretty quiet. I had the notion it was bustling the whole week.

ooh..i finally got lube loot from anna. maybe it can be a pickup line: Hi, would u like some lube? She’ll be like…what? hahaha

hmmm..i feel like singing..wtf. i miss happy hour. Office peeps are not so happy hour inclined it seems.

the chicken in pandan leaves was good and the sweet chilli…perfect match…though it was annoying to peel off the leaves using the utensils. or probably i just didn’t know a more efficient way…

there was this silly box for the utensil. I couldn’t figure out quickly how to open it…geez…apparently you just have to slide it…lol

nice place for a date actually… though the yellow light is a bit annoying.

apparently i have the most boring job among them. lol

I don’t get to see and help happy couples plan their biggest day of their life so far…nor do i travel much or blog about it…hehe

actually i wonder why i like it….i was in grade school….i wrote computer programmer in the ‘ambition’ in yearbook…High School came… It was in the computers still but i started to appreciate writing and the social sciences….College came….i was set to do psychology…. but things happened and i ended up in business stream…leading to finance….*nostalgic*

i heart RBJ. i hope it revives it’s glory days…days wherein you’re excited to go home to post in the forums…. days where u find a thread opened that day was closed that day….days where tons of new posts/comments are made….a more close knit society where people have a better understanding of each other despite the physical limitations…

soo..the isaw meetup pushed through.

it was good fun, eating the world famous up isaw…lol.. though we did not eat much….well, at least for me…next time i’ll buy like 50p worth of isaw,etc..haha

i asked my mom on how to reach UP…she told me to get a cab after going down q.ave. mrt. but it was weird…there were barricades along the walkway downstairs..so i was not aware where to get cabs…i saw the jeep terminal and tried my luck….there it was the up jeepney…so i just went inside…i was not aware i had to pay at the table terminal or something….so it was very weird for me why people in the jeepney were not paying the driver…I was like…woah… UP has free jeeps? lol… I was such a baka.

anyway….UP campus is nice..lots of trees….i think it can look really nice with refurbishings of buildings, make it more modern and all…. it seems to be a really cool date spot, cheap and umm…natural…lol

the oblation guy was very prominent…must take photo there next time…haha

1) there was this runner who had a mickey mouse thingy rite at his ass. very smart this fella…. wanted to draw attention to his well formed behind…hmmm..must try that next time when my behind is such as well…hahahaha…not.

2) there was this couple like 20m away from our circle table….i could only speculate of what was happening cuz it seems that:

- the guy was proposing…but then he was not kneeling..but he was sort of crouched and holding her hands.

- the guy was apologizing…the girl was hearing him out but was still relatively pissed.

-or maybe they’re just discussing on what they should have for dinner. yes, a very deep and long conversation about it…hahaha

3) it’s been a long time since i got bitten by an ant…blardy black ant. i will crush you next time. lol

4) nina bought her pinkies/dolls… very cute actually…..especially the one with glasses..hahaha..i’m such a dork…if only she was for real…

5) it’s pretty cool mela finally found her calling…. hmm..i wish i could find mine as well..haha

6) i brought this map of up there…just in case u know..i end up lost..haha… i did not need it though. mela was pretty familiar with the place….. anna d was primarily the beneficiary of the map today =P *dork*

7) isaw and C2 is a cool combo…for a hot day, that was the most refreshing drink i had in a while…in economics, you would call that experience “High Utility” …. hehehe

8) hmmm..acting….*thinks* not for me…haha… i tend to avoid being in the limelight.

9) there were some magic dorks playing near the film center….yay, magic is well and alive..haha

10) next up meetup must involve frisbees, tons of isaws and c2s and umm, a more comfortable place….something along the lines of just lying on the ground..haha…the seat was a bit uncomfortable….i didn’t like my legs spread out wide…nor sitting without a backrest…. geared to a side…

on another news, i finished hana yori dango series 1…. very fun series…but a bit short/rushed…..i so heart Makino Tsukushi. =P

after months of delay, a successful meetup finally…

1) bowling. i guess most didn’t play that serious and i ended up being luckier than usual. i mean i hit some rather difficult spares which when i play on my own, i tend to miss it bad. lol

Anna D was a bit out of synch out with reality, forgetting that each frame is generally a 2 shot part. hehe..i wonder what she was zoning out of… lol

Last meetup, nina was a bit on her anti social mode hence i barely got to talk to her…this time, this was not the case. haha. It must be pretty cool to be a freelancer. You have control over your time. and how bout being a problogger…. earning good money from something you enjoy. nicee…

Ain lost weight. I’m just glad he’s fine now. haha..its not everyday i get to know a young future ceo. lol

Finally got to meet Anna L. she is sooo not in her late 20s. =) It was a bit of a challenge to communicate but after a while it got easier and i think she has much stories to tell. hehe
I wanna get some tarot readings from her. though it sounds a bit creepy. haha

For some reason, the teriyaki chicken felt ordinary. I think tokyo tokyo tastes better. haha

Drinks at metrowalk.

First of all, i had no idea a sex shop existed there. I have been there a couple of times, well for drinks…but i was not aware of such a shop. It’s a revelation. lol. I’m gonna bring my colleagues there next time. *naughty*

Well, of course its understood most drinks there are overpriced, but it was fun chatting under some influence of the alcohol. It seems Anna L is the more alocohol inclined among the manila rbjers. Those drinks she had was mere warmup for her as she had the main event scheduled after it.

hair on my skin is rising as i write this.

anyway, early this morning..around 2.45 towards 3….. i was nicely asleep.

Suddenly, the doorbell to my room rang…. furiously. repeatedly.

i woke up. tried to ignore it. I mean, who the fuck is outside my room at this ungodly hour?

it could be some raging lunatic, serial killer or crazy alcoholic.

i’m still young you know.

anyway, i ignored it, then it stopped. After like 5 minutes, It came back…the ringing of the doorbell that is….repeatedly, furiously.

wtf. i was shivering my blanket.

As i gazed towards the door, there doesn’t seem to be any shadow of a person outside. or at least footsteps, or even voices…..aargh…you would think if it was an emergency, people would be banging at my door and saying help or something…but noooooooooo… it was all doorbell ringing…. wtf

after past 3 (i think), finally it stopped.

was it just a dream? (it can’t be as i am very sensitive to sound…)

or was it a ghost?

omfg.

So i went out with her today.

First girl i dated here in the country.hehe

we went bowling. it was her first time…so there i was struggling to teach her. lol

but it was fun =)

she had other stuff to do in afternoon so the bowling was cut short and we rushed to watch a movie.

a quick lunch before that.

i dunno…she was a bit tired from yesterday and had something on in the morning which explained why she was late. ya, i had to wait for an hr for her.

anyway, i’m not sure if there was chemistry. i’m hoping its not a one sided thing. The thing that bothered me was that she barely asked questions about me :/

so i told her that the next date will be her idea.

yup, thats the test to find out.

If i dun hear from her, then ya, we’re just gonna be friends.

but ya, she’s the cutest petite girl i’ve met so far

i never felt so tall. lol

I blindly entered a toilet yesterday.
